Portuguese Olympic Team Goalkeeper José Eduardo da Silva Barbosa Alves Selects Global Sport Group as his management firm.

New York, New York. July 21, 2004. Global Sport Group, LLC (www.globalsportgroup.com), the international player management company, today announced that it has signed José Eduardo da Silva Barbosa Alves. Eduardo, who has made 22 international appearances for Portugal at every level from Under-15 to Under-21 and, most recently, for the Portuguese Olympic Team was brought up through the Porto FC system.

"Eduardo was recommended to Global Sport Group by our client, West Bromwich Albion Premiership goalkeeper, Tomasz Kuszczak," said Shep Messing, Managing Director of Global Sport Group. Kuszczak played against Eduardo recently in Toulon, France when Poland played Portugal and made a strong impression on Tomasz who is now considered one of the top up and coming goalkeepers in the world. "We believe Eduardo, who has lightning fast reflexes and is extremely athletic, has a great future in Europe ahead of him," added Messing, who was, himself, a well-known goalkeeper for the New York Cosmos, playing alongside soccer greats Pelé and Franz Beckenbauer.

Portugal's national program has received increased attention recently following the Portuguese National Team's outstanding performance reaching the final of Euro 2004. Mr. Messing went on to say that there has been strong interest in Eduardo from several teams throughout Europe and he expects Eduardo to sign with a new club sometime during the current European transfer window.
