Global Sport Group Announces the Signing
of Alexandar Mladenov
Rising Star from Hertha Berlin and Bulgarian National Team selects
Global Sport Group as his management firm.
New York, New York. December 15, 2004. Global Sport Group, LLC, the international player representation
company, today announced the signing of Alexandar Mladenov, the young star of Hertha Berlin and the Bulgarian
National Team
Alexandar Mladenov, 22 years old, is currently on loan to Karlsruhe from Hertha Berlin in the German Bundesliga,
but there has been widespread speculation that the young Bulgarian is already being courted by other teams in
Europe and may move during the European transfer window.
Mladenov's father, Stoicho Mladenov, himself a multi-capped football-legend in Bulgaria, left the decision to
sign with Global Sport Group up to his son. "Alexandar is at a critical point in his career and I felt
that it was important that he have the guidance of professional managers. There have been countless agents
talking to him, particularly over the last year, but Global Sport Group was by far the most professional and
I am happy that he chose them."
"We believe the time has arrived for Alexandar Mladenov to fulfill the great expectations and potential
the international soccer world has predicted for him since he burst on the scene at the age of 17," said
Shep Messing, Managing Director of Global Sport Group and former teammate of Pelé and Franz Beckenbauer.
"His time at Hertha Berlin has been at times frustrating, but nevertheless important in terms of his
development as a player. His magnificent left foot, speed, agility and touch on the ball make him a lethal
attacking force. We look forward to being with Alexandar as his career moves to the next stage, both at the
club and National Team level," added Messing.
"I am thrilled to be with Global Sport Group," said Mladenov, at the same time going out of his way
to praise his teammates and coaching staff at Hertha Berlin. "Football is my life and my decision to hire
professional managers indicates that I'm looking to play at the highest level. I just want to be able to focus
on my game and let my managers attend to the rest of my affairs. It was difficult finding someone to trust, but
I found that in Global.
Alexandar's former teammate, Tomasz Kuszczak, who moved to Albion West Bromwich in the English Premiership last
summer, introduced Alexandar to Global and encouraged him to take the step of hiring professional managers.
Mladenov becomes the latest major international to engage Global Sport Group as his representation agency.
Global has been gaining worldwide recognition as it campaigns for players' rights worldwide and against the
use of unscrupulous intermediaries that have plagued professional soccer for years.
